Morning Flurries: Avalanche lose, MacKinnon sets a record and that McDavid guy is pretty good

The Colorado Avalanches started their four game road trip with their second straight lower point. After a game in which Semyon Varlamov carried them through regulation, the Avs dropped a 3-2 decision to the Rangers in a shootout. While the outcome wasn’t great, it was a big night for the superstar that wears number 29. Nathan MacKinnon set a new record for the Avalanche by becoming the first player in franchise history to score in the fist six games of the season.
