MONTREAL — Defenseman Mark Barberio is among five Avalanche players from Quebec, and he was born and raised in Montreal — where he played with the Canadiens for 56 games over two seasons. So, indeed, Tuesday’s game against the Habs was a big deal for him and his family.
“I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t excited,” Barberio said before the Avalanche put its 10-game winning streak on the line. “First of all, it’s my hometown and I’ve always been excited to play there. And I was fortunate to get a chance to play for that organization.
