Logan O’Connor isn’t “real creative,” but his surge sets Jared Bednar’s example for Avalanche AHL call-ups

It wouldn’t be unusual for the adrenaline rush of a breakaway opportunity to be a blur: instinct taking over, with no time for conscious calculations.

Logan O’Connor would rather be thinking through every millisecond.

It worked for him Thursday night when he found himself in a situation too good to be true. Two minutes after O’Connor scored to put the Avalanche ahead against Nashville, linemate J.T. Compher blocked a shot and battled two Predators for the puck. It leaked ahead to O’Connor in the neutral zone, and suddenly he was full acceleration toward Nashville goalie Kevin Lankinen.
