The fate of the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies at the 2016 Memorial Cup is now out of their hands. They will get at least one more contest to keep alive their hopes of bringing a Canadian Hockey League championship back to their Western Quebec mining city.
The London Knights had a strong night on special teams and advanced to Sunday's Memorial Cup final with a 5-2 victory over Rouyn-Noranda on Tuesday at the Enmax Centrium in Red Deer, Alberta. The Ontario Hockey League champions have now won 16 games in a row.
Depending on the result of Wednesday's final round-robin contest between the Red Deer Rebels (1-1) and Brandon Wheat Kings (0-2), the Huskies (1-2) could next play in Thursday's tie-breaking game or Friday's semifinal contest.
