Forward Jack Skille and defenseman Andrej Meszaros skated in Avalanche equipment at the team’s Centennial headquarters Tuesday and are presumably preparing for Colorado’s upcoming training camp on professional tryout (PTO) contracts. Apparently, their PTO deals are a secret, because the Avs won’t comment on their training camp roster until it is announced. We expect the roster to come out Wednesday or Thursday.
Skille, 28, and Meszaros, 29, have fallen on hard times, relatively speaking. Skille was the seventh overall draft pick in 2005 by Chicago and, although he never earned a $1 million salary in five contracts, he’s played in all eight NHL seasons since age 20.
