The unofficial eye test concluded that nearly half the fans at the sold-out Chicago-Colorado game at the Pepsi Center on Tuesday night were wearing Blackhawks jerseys, sweatshirts or jackets. And when the Blackhawks scored, it was as if this were the United Center West.
It was neither new nor surprising, and it happens with teams other than the Blackhawks, and also at Broncos, Nuggets and Rockies games. But it probably was the highest number of "opposing" team fans I've ever noticed at Denver arena.
I've discussed the phenomenon before, so I won't go through it all again.
