Avalanche forward Nail Yakupov, the first pick in the 2012 draft, by Edmonton, was a healthy scratch for the second consecutive game and seventh for the season Sunday.
Yakupov also was the odd-forward out Friday in a 6-1 loss at Winnipeg. Rookie forward A.J. Greer played in that game and was reassigned to the minors Saturday, but Nathan MacKinnon came off injured reserve to replace Greer’s roster spot. The Avalanche’s other healthy scratch was defenseman Duncan Siemens, who was another top prospect during his draft year. Siemens, who has played in just five career NHL games, was selected by Colorado with the 11th pick in the 2011 draft.
