CENTENNIAL — Gabe Landeskog theories are like belly buttons: Everybody’s got one. The new trainer. The heavy sled. The MGM line. Married life.
But when you ask Paul Fixter why a guy who has never topped 26 goals over his first seven NHL seasons is suddenly leading the league with 11 after 13 games, he pauses and offers up this:
“He’s a goal scorer. Gabe’s always been a goal scorer,” noted Fixter, the former Avalanche assistant coach who tutored the current Avs captain when No. 92 was a juniors phenom with the OHL’s Kitchener Rangers from 2009-11.
