After Tuesday's practice at Family Sports Center, Avalanche coach Patrick Roy Tuesday said defenseman Erik Johnson's absence from the lineup with a lower body injury suffered against Los Angeles Monday night would be "short term."
Asked what that meant, Roy responded, "It could be five, 10 days, 12 days — short term."
Johnson was injured in the second period of the Avalanche's 4-0 win over the Kings, forcing Colorado to go with just five defensemen for the final half of the game.
Going by that timetable, Johnson could miss as few as two games, against St.
