The Avalanche and Rampage announced that former QMJHL and ECHL head coach Eric Veilleux has been named to replace Dean Chynoweth behind the bench next season for San Antonio.
Veilleux has a stellar record in the Q, winning the Memorial Cup with Shawinigan in 2012 and making the President’s Cup finals 3 times in 9 years. He was slated to be the Head Coach and GM of the Victoriaville Tigres this season but leaves for the Rampage without ever coaching a game there.
Besides his coaching record, he played in the M Cup as a center for Laval in 1993 and went on to play a few years in the Avs/Nords farm system for Cornwall and Hershey.
