On March 18 in Calgary, Avalanche defenseman Eric Gelinas got tangled up with a Flames’ skater behind the net.
“It wasn’t even a hard hit,” Gelinas, 25, said at Avalanche training camp Saturday. “It was one of those funky accidents. I was just tying to get the guy in and wait for him to get on me and I’d dish it to my support there. Unfortunately, he didn’t hit my body, he just got my arm and my arm was up against the wall. He pushed on my arm and the elbow popped the the other way.”
The elbow injury ended Gelinas’ season, and he played only six games for the Avalanche after his Feb.
