Colorado Avalanche forward Matt Duchene has been selected to represent the Avalanche at the 2016 NHL All-Star Game, the league announced today. Duchene will make his second career All-Star Game appearance when the 2016 Honda NHL All-Star Game takes place on Sunday, Jan. 31 in Nashville (3:00 p.m. MT, NBCSN).
Duchene, 24, participated in the 2011 All-Star Game in Raleigh, N.C., scoring a goal while also attempting the first penalty shot in All-Star Game history. Duchene, who turned 20 just two weeks before that game, became the youngest Avalanche player to ever participate in an NHL All-Star Game and the second-youngest in franchise history behind Owen Nolan (19 years, 340 days in 1992).
