Denver Pioneers goaltender Devin Cooley on Tuesday signed a two-year, entry-level contract with the Nashville Predators.
In three seasons at DU, the 6-foot-5, 192-pound Cooley compiled a 15-9-4 record with a 1.93 goals-against average. His best season was 2018-19 when he was honored with the Bill Masterson Award as the team’s MVP alongside fellow goalie Filip Larsson. That year, he had an 11-6-2 record and posted a .933 save percentage, the second-highest in Pioneers history.
The 23-year-old California native was undrafted in the NHL. He is the third DU player to sign an NHL contract following the 2019-20 season along with Ian Mitchell (Chicago) and Emilio Pettersen (Calgary).
