Once you have an understanding of the principles and typical stats that might come up in everyday hockey watching/reading, the next step is to dig in and do some analysis for yourself.
Don’t worry! There are some great resources out there like Natural Stats Trick, Puck IQ, and Corsica. Plus, if you can add, subtract, multiply, divide, and understand how to find a percentage and a rate, you’ll have no problem figuring out how most of these stats are calculated.
