The Avalanche bounced back from ending a 19-game points streak with an impressive road victory over the Golden Knights. Here are five takeaways from a 2-0 shutout Wednesday night in Vegas.
Darcy dominates. Avalanche GM Joe Sakic’s offseason decision to trade for Darcy Kuemper continues to be validated in a major way. The 31-year-old goaltender was stellar against the Golden Knights with 26 saves. Kuemper has now recorded shutouts in his last two starts. His 15-0-2 mark over the past 19 games set a franchise record for consecutive decisions with a point (17) by a goalie.
