Before talking about Thursday’s big game against the Tampa Bay Lightning, Avalanche forward J.T. Compher on Wednesday was enthralled to speak about his little sister in China.
“It’s nice talking about her game compared to us all the time,” Compher joked.
Jesse Compher, 22, is a first-time Olympian for the U.S. women’s hockey team and J.T. and the rest of the family saw the Americans’ first three games, each wins, at a USA Hockey-sponsored watch party in Park City, Utah, during last weekend’s NHL All-Star break. The family watched Jesse produce four points (three goals) in the victories over Finland, Russia Olympic Committee and Switzerland, the latter in which Jesse had two goals.
