The Colorado Springs, Colorado, based organization released its preliminary list for the tournament, which features seven forwards, four defensemen and two goaltenders.
Compher, captain of the University of Michigan Wolverines, had a standout junior campaign in college, putting up 63 points (16 goals, 47 assists) and a plus-35 rating through 38 games this year. He finished second in scoring in the Big Ten and first in assists (47), assists per game (1.24), power-play assists (19) and points (24) and plus/minus rating (+35).
Compher was in the midst of an eight-game point streak (five goals, 11 assists) when Michigan’s season came to an end in the NCAA Regional Final against the eventual tournament-winning North Dakota Fighting Hawks.
