Colorado Avalanche wins seventh straight game, knock off Anaheim Ducks

Make it seven straight. The red-hot Avalanche defeated Anaheim 3-1 on Monday afternoon for its seventh-straight victory — Colorado’s longest winning streak in 12 years, when Joel Quenneville was coach and captain Joe Sakic had 32 goals to lead the Avs to the second round of the playoffs in 2005-2006.

Forwards Matt Nieto, Nathan MacKinnon and Colin Wilson (power play) scored for the Avs — who led 1-0 after the first period and 3-1 after two — and goalie Jonathan Bernier had another strong game in net to improve to 11-7-1.
