Defenseman Andrew Bodnarchuk was waived by the Columbus Blue Jackets. The Columbus Blue Jackets are not a good team — they’re dead last in the Metropolitan Division and a lock to not make the playoffs. If a player can’t cut it on a team like the Columbus Blue Jackets, that should be the story.
Instead, the Colorado Avalanche claimed Bodnarchuk off of waivers back in January. Since then, he’s played 18 games for the Avalanche.
A lot of people thought he might get waived by Colorado, as forward Chris Wagner did, or become part of a trade.
