The Colorado Avalanche have traded center Carl Soderberg to the Arizona Coyotes. In return they’ve received defenseman Kevin Connauton and a 2020 third-round pick.
Soderberg was fifth on the team for scoring with 49 points (23 goals, 26 assists). Those numbers heralded his second-best points total and the first time he scored 20+ goals. Soderberg spent the majority of the time anchoring the third line.
Kevin Connauton seems to be a third-pairing defenseman. He played 50 games for the Coyotes last season, recording 1 goal and 7 assists for 8 points. In all, he’s played 310 games in the NHL between three teams — his draft-team Dallas Stars and the Columbus Blue Jackets.
