The Colorado Avalanche have the Ottawa Senators’ first-round pick in the 2019 NHL Draft. The Senators finished dead-last in the NHL this last season, but they/we lost the Draft Lottery. We’ll be selecting number four.
Fourth-overall is a very good pick, and extremely fortuitous for a team that went all the way to Game 7 in the second round of the playoffs. They’ve already got a decent prospect pool, and they can make it even deeper with this fourth-overall.
Who to choose, though? We already know Jack Hughes and Kappo Kakko will be gone by the time GM Joe Sakic takes the podium to announce his selection.
