The Colorado Avalanche’s Gabriel Landeskog received news from the NHL Thursday that he would be suspended 3 games for a cross-check on Anaheim Ducks defenseman Simon Despres. Landeskog hit Despres with his stick during the third period of the Avalanches victory Wednesday night.
It seems that the League is considering Landeskog a repeat offender. Landeskog was suspended for two games earlier this season for an illegal hit on Brad Marchund from Boston. It seems the League is trying to send a message. Landeskog will be fined $203,832 from his salary. Landeskog traveled with the team but will miss a majority of the Canadian road trip.
