The Colorado Avalanche are doing their very best to give their fans heart attacks. Last night the Avs played the team that’s chasing them for a playoff berth, the Arizona Coyotes. A win for the Desert Dogs wouldn’t have ousted the Avs, but it would have made the standings too close.
We already know the Avalanche don’t like to make matters easy on themselves, and last night was no exception. They took a 2-0 lead into the third period based on second period goals from Nathan MacKinnon and Derick Brassard, both power play tallies.
