The Colorado Avalanche are back!
Tonight a small rubber disc-shaped object will hit ice, thousands of fans will watch as a 20th Anniversary season begins beneath bright lights, and players will battle for the rights to the first win of the season in as many games. Fans will surely bicker, there will be some high-fives given when the red light turns on (hopefully), and beers will be spilt in jovial celebration.
The Pepsi Center will come alive again with the atmosphere of hockey, and fans will join in the static electricity of it all, the ye’ old expression of “You can feel it in the air tonight.
