According to Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports, the Colorado Avalanche have signed WHL prospect currently playing on the Lethbridge Hurricanes, Nick Henry, to a three-year entry-level contract. Henry is a 19-year-old draft fourth-round draft pick in 2017.
The young right winger was the third pick in the draft for the Avalanche, and according to Cap Friendly, needed to be signed by June 1st or else his draft rights would be lost. For reference, none of the other picks in that year’s draft will need to be signed just yet as they were all drafted from other league organizations.
