As expected, the Colorado Avalanche have announced the signing of Düsseldorfer EG forward Andreas Martinsen. He was signed to a one-year entry-level contract. The Norwegian played at the IIHF World Championships in the Czech Republic this year, where he recorded one assist.
The 24-year-old Martinsen spent the past three seasons playing for Düsseldorf in the DEL, Germany’s highest league. There he spent the most time on the center or wing of Düsseldorf’s first and second line. He finished third on the club in scoring this past season with 18 goals and 41 points while adding a team-high 99 penalty minutes in 50 games.
