The San Jose Sharks are making their first Stanley Cup Finals appearance in 25 years, which means the St. Louis Blues are failing to win the Cup for the 49th year in a row. Ouch. Their roster is also fat — they’ll need to shave some contracts.
That said, this Blues squad has been one of the strongest since the late 1980s and early 1990s when they had the likes of Brett Hull, Adam Oates, Al MacInnis and Curtis Joseph. Ok, this Blues squad isn’t that strong, but the closest they’ve been to Cup contenders in a while.
