The Colorado Avalanche commenced their annual rookie camp at the Family Sports Center in Centennial. The practice started at 9:30 with goalie warming up beforehand.
The expected players, such as Chris Bigras, Mason Geersten and Conner Bleackley participated. Some tryout players also skated, including Reid Petyk, Michael Schumacher, Justin Hamonic, Jan Mandat and Raphael Maheaux. Schumacher and Hamonic were also present at the Avalanche prospect camp over the summer.
Speaking of repeat customers, certain players are becoming regulars at the Avalanche rookie camp, especially Duncan Siemens, Roman Will and Alexis Pepin. You’ve got to think they’re dying to get out of the rookie fold.
