Colorado Avalache GM Joe Sakic does like his draft-time trades. Maybe it’s the atmosphere, or the fact that so many fellow GMs are mulling around the same hotels and restaurants looking for ways to improve their team within the cap floor or ceiling.
Sakic is getting an early start this year. The news just came across the wire — a.k.a., Twitter — that the Colorado Avalanche made the following trade:
So, it appears Joe Sakic had lunch with Panthers GM Tom Rowe.
In any case, my first reaction to the trade was, “Aww, and I liked Reto Berra.
