With the Expansion Draft and the Entry Draft fast approaching, the Colorado Avalanche may be considering doing some trading before the drafts.
While the name usually associated with trades is center Matt Duchene, recently trade talks concerning Tyson Barrie have started up again:
In the video, the trade talk is predicated on first dealing Duchene, but I don’t think that’s essential. While it’s true Colorado isn’t deep on defense, the same could be said for any position.
According to Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet, there were a few who wanted to scout Barrie at the IIHF World Championships and were disappointed he exited early due to a weird injury.
