The Colorado Avalanche have the talent to be an elite team. They have the depth to be an elite team. Being an elite team, one that challenges for the Stanley Cup on a regular basis, is just within their grasp.
But it keeps eluding them like the proverbial golden ring on the ferris wheel. Part of the problem is that they just don’t have that killer instinct.
We saw the lack in the last three games. In all three losses, the Avalanche had a lead in the third period. Yet they’ve gone on to lose the whole game.
