In an official press release, the Colorado Avalanche have announced that Dave Farrish will join current Assistant Coach Tim Army on Patrick Roy’s coaching staff. Ferrish has 24 years of coaching experience, most recently as an assistant coach for the Toronto Maple Leafs.
The 58-year-old also has the experience of 430 NHL games as a player, including four games for the Quebec Nordiques, and recorded 127 points. A defenseman, he was selected 24th overall by the New York Rangers in the 1976 NHL Draft.
Ferrish’s last full season as a player was in 1988-89 with the AHL’s Baltimore Skipjacks.
