Many feel that the Colorado Avalanche should make a big trade. One player in particular would be Matt Duchene. There are always rumors regarding Duchene.
At this point GM Joe Sakic has yet to make a deal. It’s certain that Sakic feels the pressure to make moves.
It’s understandable that the Avs need to consider market value when dealing with Duchene. Especially because of what Duchene has meant to this team. However, the longer they wait to move him, the more his value drops.
Nonetheless, he has two years left on his contract before unrestricted free agency, giving a team plenty of time to sign him before he gets away for free.
