We all know the Colorado Avalanche’s playing style by now — go chance for chance with the other team and rely on a combination of high skilled forwards and (hopefully) solid goaltending to convert on more of those chances then the opposition. And for the most part, it works…. decently. I mean it’s hard to not score goals when your forwards include Matt Duchene and Nathan MacKinnon and Gabriel Landeskog and even Carl Soderberg.
But now the Avs have lost arguably the two best rush forwards in the league to injury, and if they are both out for any considerable amount of time Roy will need to think the philosophy of the Avalanche.
