Today the Colorado Avalanche announced two new hires for the coaching staff.
Ray Bennett will join the Avs as an assistant coach. He comes from the St. Louis Blues, where he spent 10 seasons (2007-2017) behind the bench eventually running the power play. Previously he was with the Los Angeles Kings from 1999-2006 where he was video coach and a statistical assistant. Before he joined the NHL, he was a coach with Red Deer College in Alberta. He has worked with Team Canada on the men’s and women’s teams at tournaments such as the World Junior Championships, Women’s World Championships, and the Olympic Games.
