Colorado Avalanche Forward Mikko Rantanen is Set for a Huge Season in 2017-18

The Colorado Avalanche forwards are having success internationally, with the exception of Matt Duchene, who is pointless in five games with Canada. However, the next wave of forwards — specifically Nathan MacKinnon and Mikko Rantanen — are having a ton of success at the IIHF Worlds.

Nathan MacKinnon has eight points (5g, 3a) in five games, and Mikko Rantanen has seven points (2g, 5a) in six games.

Those two are the future of the Colorado Avalanche, and both are likely to play on the same line with one another for quite some time. So, it’s exciting to see both of them producing at such a high clip for their respective teams.
