Spotlight on Shea Theodore
The young defenseman logged a game-high 26:38 and led Vegas with eight shots in Saturday’s 2-1 shootout loss to the Avalanche in Denver. Theodore, 22, is considered one of the NHL’s top up-and-coming two-way blueliners. The 2013 first-round draft pick was acquired by Vegas from Anaheim in an expansion draft trade — a deal that forced the Knights to select defenseman Clayton Stoner and his $3.25 million salary cap hit in the expansion draft. Theodore split his time last season with Anaheim and its American Hockey League affiliate but became a key cog in the Ducks’ 14-game playoff run.
