It may seem as if the Colorado Avalanche are finally set in goal. They still have Semyon Varlamov, and they traded for then signed Philipp Grubauer as his heir apparent.
At the Prospect Development Camp, they had four young goalies participating:
- Adam Werner
- Petr Kvaca
- Justus Annunen
- Pavel Francouz
They had also picked another goalie, Shamil Shmakov, at the 2018 NHL Draft. At the AHL level, they have Francouz signed as well as Joe Cannata and Spencer Martin.
If you look at that, though, you see that the Avalanche have only five goalies signed, and only two of them are NHL-caliber.
