Entering a preseason where he will fight for a spot on the NHL roster, Colorado Avalanche defenseman Chris Bigras reminisced on his performance in the past weekend’s rookie showcase tournament with a simple, “I felt good out there.”
Having been one of the few players in the tournament who has experience in the NHL, Bigras had an impressive weekend in the showcase scoring in each of Colorado’s two games.
“It’s definitely a little bit slower and disjointed just throwing a team together like that,” Bigras said Monday after day two of rookie camp. “But I certainly feel more comfortable having that NHL experience and knowing what to expect.
