In Canada and hockey-obsessed European countries, the World Junior Championship is a big deal. In America, not so much.
Which is why I love to write about it. American hockey fans deserve WJC storylines about the world’s future NHL stars and I’ve got some good ones from a Colorado perspective.
Bobby Brink. He’s the University of Denver freshman forward from Minnetonka, Minn., who is a top forward for Team USA. Brink was selected by the Philadelphia Flyers with the 34th pick of NHL draft in June.
Bo Byram. He’s a popular guy with Avalanche fans, having been selected in the first round by the club (fourth overall) in the 2019 NHL draft.
