Many Colorado Avalanche fans already think Cale Makar is too good for NCAA hockey. Last night only helped to confirm that idea.
In the first regular season game of his sophomore season, the 2017 fourth overall pick had two goals, two assists and a game-high 6 shots on net, leading his UMass Minutemen to a 61- victory over RPI.
With the desire to spend the season working on his defensive game, Makar was able to show last night that he is one of then most dangerous offensive players in the NCAA. It’s only one game, but no one should be surprised if the Colorado Avalanche prospect is at the top of the Hobey Baker ballot at the end of the season.
