After months of waiting to see what would happen between the Colorado Avalanche and Mikko Rantanen, we finally know the end of this saga. This evening, the Colorado Avalanche sent Mikko Rantanen to the Carolina Hurricanes in a three-team deal between the Avs, the Canes, and the Chicago Blackhawks.

Rantanen was eligible to sign a contract extension with the Avs this past summer, which obviously didn’t happen at the time. And now, just about six months later, here we are.
