As part of moving closer to firming up a season-opening roster, the Avalanche Monday signed Gabriel Bourque and Rene Bourque, the veteran wingers who attended Colorado’s camp and played in the exhibition season on professional tryout agreements.
Rene Bourque, 34, signed a one-year, $650,000 contract, while Gabriel Bourque, 26, agreed to a one-year, two-way deal that calls for him to make $800,000 in the NHL and $200,000 if in the minors. Because of the two-way deal, Gabriel had to be placed on waivers and will have clear them Tuesday morning to be assured of remaining with the Colorado organization.
