Boston Bruins’ gear barred from some Tampa Bay Lightning seats, and Boston fans aren’t thrilled

Boston fans hoping for prime seats to Monday night’s NHL playoff game in Tampa will have to make a choice. The Tampa Bay Lightning has a postseason policy on the books that permits only gear featuring the logo of the home team — or “neutral apparel” — inside two high-profile seating sections. Which means Bruins fans can either settle for less prestigious tickets, or leave their black and gold gear at home.

“Fans wearing visiting team-branded apparel will be asked to remove such apparel while in these areas,” according to the Lightning’s website.

The policy only applies to two areas: the Lightning’s Lexus Lounge, which includes seats against the glass, and the Chase Club luxury suites, according to Bill Wickett, the team’s executive vice president of communications.
