Avalanche defenseman Bo Byram was recalled from his conditioning stint with the AHL’s Colorado Eagles on Monday and the rookie with an extensive concussion history will travel with the NHL club.
The Avs begin a three-game trip Tuesday at the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Byram, 20, hasn’t played an NHL game in nearly three months — since Jan. 10 when he logged 20:20 in a 4-3 victory over the visiting Seattle Kraken. Byram, who suffered at least two concussions in 2021 and has twice been shut down because of head-related issues this season, was placed on personal leave Jan.
