Patrick Roy tinkered with his lines at Monday's Avalanche practice, and one of the obvious goals was to do something — anything — to get more production out of seventh-year center Matt Duchene. Duchene still was centering Jarome Iginla, but big Swede Dennis Everberg was on the other wing.
Previously, the Avs' coach had tried Blake Comeau and Mikko Rantanen on the left side of that line, but Comeau has only two assists through seven games and Rantanen was pointless when the 18-year-old rookie was sent down to San Antonio of the American Hockey League last week.
