In his season-opening press conference Wednesday, Avalanche general manager Joe Sakic briefly discussed the television dispute that appears destined to prevent fans from watching Thursday’s regular-season opener against the Calgary Flames at the Pepsi Center.
Altitude will broadcast the game but “the big three” — Comcast, Dish Network and DirecTV — won’t carry it unless the sides agree to new contracts. The game will be available to fans with an NHL Center Ice subscription who live outside Colorado.
“Hopefully that will get worked out. I know on the business side, they’re working on trying to get that thing done.
