Desperate times, meet desperate measures: Jared Bednar isn’t opposed to a change in the net in an attempt to try and change the Avalanche’s fortunes.
With a 5-4 setback to the San Jose Sharks late Wednesday extending the franchise’s season-high losing skid to six, Colorado’s coach said he’d be open to starting newcomer Pavel Francouz in goal, perhaps as soon as Friday night’s visit from the New York Rangers.
“I liked him again (Wednesday night),” Bednar said of the Czech goaltender, who stopped 12 of 13 shots against San Jose in relief of Philipp Grubauer, who was pulled from the pipes in the second period with the Avs down 4-1.
