Like Gabriel and Rene Bourque before him, the Avs add Jiri Tlusty to a no risk deal that helps fill their depleted training camp and preseason rosters. The move adds competition for prospects and veterans alike as he will compete for a depth role on the NHL roster. This marks the third forward coming into camp on a PTO. I suspect that Tlusty is the final PTO the Avs give out this this summer.
There is always a possibility that the Avs offer a defenseman such as Kyle Quincey or Dan Boyle a PTO, but with an already crowded blueline with no real spots available, I’d be mildly surprised.
