Avalanche second-line center Nazem Kadri is expected to miss multiple weeks due to a lower-body injury, coach Jared Bednar said Tuesday.
Kadri sustained the injury early in the third period of Sunday’s 3-2 victory at Minnesota. Bednar said Kadri is out indefinitely, and for “weeks, not days.”
Kadri, acquired in July via a trade from Toronto, had appeared in 51 of 53 Avs games this season, and he’s flourished with 36 points (19 goals). His production was especially valuable earlier in the season when several Colorado forwards hit the injury list. Now, others must step up in Kadri’s absence.
